Each frame of honey is carefully lifted from the hive and individually inspected to ensure it is ‘ripe’ before being uncapped by hand. The frames are then spun to separate the honey from the comb. Unlike so many modern, mechanised processors, Spring Cottage team only coarse filter at this stage and don’t use any heat to ease the process. It takes much longer but ensures that the honey in your jar still contains as much of the pollen as possible and that the natural, beneficial enzymes and textures haven’t been damaged or destroyed. Apart from the occasional stray leg or wing, nothing is removed and no syrups are added to dilute it.

All our hampers include free weekday delivery as standard. Our deliveries are made locally by our own drivers, and nationally by carbon neutral courier. Our courier deliveries are sent on a next day tracked fragile service with a one hour time slot allocated on the delivery morning and are always marked to be left safe. So you will always know when your gift has been delivered.
